FAQ

What do you have to offer?
I provide healthcare that is easy to access, and where the focus is on you and your needs. I make sure that we have the time so that I can listen to you needs and answer any questions that you have.  I am directly available to you by phone. Confidentiality is important and guaranteed. I have been privileged to serve women's healthcare needs for more than 30 years.  I provide professional, personalized, compassionate, up-to-date healthcare to all women in a setting that is private and comfortable.

Do you take my insurance?
I accept all insurance plans.   I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, UCare, Forward Health, Medica, MultiPlan, United HealthCare, Preferred One, Iowa Medicaid and Minnesota Assistance. Office visits can be paid for with a Medical Savings Account or Flex Plan, if you have one.

What if I don’t have insurance?
My goal is to provide professional women’s health care to any woman who wants my services. I also want my work to be sustainable. I am not a non-profit organization, I am an independent health care provider, doing what I know how to do in this world and doing it to the best of my ability. If you are paying out of pocket, charges for office visits will be on a sliding fee scale, with payment due at your appointment. In some circumstances, I may be willing to barter goods for services.

What are your hours? When is the office open?
Appointments are available 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. If you can’t make an appointment during these times I will try to offer an alternate time.

How do I make an appointment?
Please call (507) 450-3422. If I am in an appointment or at a birth, I might not answer, so leave a voice message or text. If you have an urgent concern, please include that in your message. I will call you back as soon as I am able.

How long are appointments?
I believe that good health care starts with listening to you and taking the time needed for me to gain a thorough understanding of your questions, concerns and health needs, so appointment times are ample, usually an hour. On the other hand, if you have a straightforward question or problem and don’t have that much time to spend in my office, we can schedule a shorter appointment time.

Where is your office and what about parking?
My office is in the Community Court  Building in downtown Winona, MN.                                                                                    Office address: 166 West 3rd, Suite 205, Winona, MN 55987.  Community Court Building is on the corner of West 3rd Street and Johnson Street.  My office is on the second floor. To get to the second floor, please enter through the door at the back of the building, off of the parking lot; there is a black awning above the door that says Knuesel Law Firm. There is parking behind the building and also on West 3rd Street and Johnson Street but remember that to get to my office, you need to enter the building through the door off the parking lot; you can't get to the second floor from any of the doors on the first floor!

What if I need a prescription?
My license as a certified nurse midwife plus my DEA license allows me to prescribe any medication you are likely to need. Prescriptions will be called to the pharmacy of your choice at the time of your appointment.

What if I have a health problem you don’t take care of?
If you have a problem that is out of my scope of care, I would either discuss your situation with my collaborating Obstetrician/Gynecologist or Family Practice physician and continue to care for you following our combined recommendations, or I would refer you to the health care specialist I think you need to see. A list of my services is found here.
